But let's be honest: we don't know how long the technology can keep pace with us. You see, we are exposed to constant change, and alongside our day-to-day work there is one thing in particular we need to do: be alert.

Bear in mind that what is known as the "half life" of knowledge, i.e. the period of time in which half of our acquired knowledge becomes obsolete, is becoming ever shorter. That what we learn in college stays with us for fifteen years and what we learn in vocational training just five is now a time-honoured fact: change keeps us alive.
